About Me

“Purpose of my Blog”
In August of 2010 my Wife and I became homeowners. Like everyone else blessed enough to enjoy this privilege, we were scared and overwhelmed with this momentous step in our lives. We were coming from a one bedroom basement apartment with all of 700 square feet (if that), and moving to a home more than 1800 square feet. So the artist in me was presented with a big blank canvas, the ultimate “White Box Challenge.”

Like many other average Americans, we want a beautiful home that we can be proud of; we want nice things, and a well designed, comfortable space. Over the past two years, we have slowly built out some of the rooms and molded the house into the home that it is today. In the process, there were lots of painful moments where we couldn’t afford to buy some things, or didn’t have the know how to make them.

I recently decided that I had the desire and skill to make things for the house, the same way I did for my Art. So for everyone who has ever wanted something beautiful or just cool, and not been able to buy it, MAKE IT. Like most people I don’t yet have an extensive selection of tools, but I have a strong will, creative passion, and desire to express myself. It is my hope that this blog will not only be an outlet for me, but an inspiration to other overwhelmed new home owners and creative people alike. Thanks for joining me on the journey, and I look forward to sharing with all of you over the years.
